Brivo AccessCreate a holiday so doors follow holiday hours
A holiday in Brivo Access is a one-time exception to your normal schedules. If the front door or pool gate normally unlocks on a schedule, a holiday overrides that schedule for the dates you choose so the door stays locked.
Quick steps
- 1
Open Holidays
Log in to Brivo Access and go to Settings > Holidays on the left navigation bar.
- 2
Start a new holiday
Click Create Holiday.
- 3
Name it
In Description, enter a clear name that includes the year, such as Independence Day 2026.
- 4
Choose the site
Select Universal if the holiday applies to your whole organization, or pick a specific Site if only one location is closed.
- 5
Pick the schedules it affects
Choose All Schedules to pause every schedule, or click Add Schedule and select only the schedules that should observe the holiday. For example, keep the cleaning crew's schedule running while the public unlock schedule is paused.
- 6
Set the date and time
Enter the From and To dates and times. Most holidays run from 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM. For an early closing, set the From time to when you close, such as 1:00 PM.
- 7
Save
Click Save Holiday.
- 8
Check that it worked
On the holiday date, check the Activity Log. Doors that normally follow an unlock schedule should stay locked while the holiday is in effect.
Brivo holidays do not repeat each year on their own. Brivo recommends a holiday review every December to enter next year's closures.
If you delete a holiday, the schedules it covered go back to normal for that date immediately.
