In early 2016, Gear Spinners outgrew its incubator office. SMARTstart Pasco announced the move, and The Laker/Lutz News followed with its own short item a week later.
Outgrowing the incubator
Thomas Giella joined the SMARTstart Pasco Business Incubator in September 2014 as the company’s only employee, offering affordable website design to small and mid-sized businesses. About a year and a half later, Gear Spinners had grown and needed more room.
The new office at 25344 Wesley Chapel Blvd., Suite 104, in Lutz sat about a mile north of the then-new Tampa Premium Outlets, giving the team a central spot to serve customers. Thomas credited SMARTstart programs such as CO.STARTERS and the SMARTstart Challenge, where the company placed third, with helping the business grow and begin hiring.
Two divisions
- Complete I.T.: computer repair and network infrastructure. Clients could drop off equipment at the Lutz office for in-house repair, some of it finished the next day.
- Tampa Bay Installs: audio and video installation for homes and businesses, including wireless speakers, projectors, WiFi, TV mounting, VoIP phones, and CCTV cameras.
Gear Spinners stayed on as an off-site SMARTstart member, with plans to expand into Land O’ Lakes and New Port Richey and keep building in Dade City and Lutz.
That Complete I.T. division is the name we carry today.
