Three years after starting in a Pasco County incubator, our company was recognized alongside some of the county’s best-known employers.
One of 24 nominees
The Laker/Lutz News published the list of nominees for the Pasco Economic Development Council’s 31st Annual Awards and Trade Show. Complete I.T./Gear Spinners LLC was one of 24 businesses named for their contributions to the local business community.
According to the paper, nominees were scored on three things:
- Company growth
- Leadership in current business issues
- Corporate citizenship
Awards were given by company size (small, medium, and large) plus a category for startups and businesses less than 24 months old.
The event
The awards were held on August 31, 2017, at Saddlebrook Resort & Spa in Wesley Chapel. That year the Pasco EDC tried a new format, with a shorter ceremony, a brief report on the county’s economic development progress, and a trade show. The evening also introduced the Pasco EDC Leadership Award, given first to the late Don Porter for his role in shaping the Wiregrass area.
The nominee list mixed hospitals, manufacturers, builders, and small local shops. For a company that started with one person in an incubator office, it was an honor just to be on it.
